Welcome to Ruwah Community !
Our vision is simple: radically change Africa’s future by building generational wealth, one child at a time. For that, we’re on a mission to help young people feel more confident about money and offer a safe and secure way for families to teach their children how to earn, save and invest through our prepaid debit card and innovative financial literacy platform. We believe that by empowering children with financial knowledge, we can help break the cycle of poverty or “just getting by” that has been affecting families on the continent for so long and help them build generational wealth.
Ruwah, our business name, encompasses deep and meaningful associations that truly resonate with our vision and values. It carries a tapestry of powerful meanings that beautifully converge into a single, profound essence. When asked what Ruwah means, it encompasses the following:
Ruwah represents water, the life-giving force that flows with tranquil beauty and formidable strength. It symbolizes our interconnectedness, adaptability, and unwavering determination to reach our goals, much like a meandering stream finding its destined path.
Furthermore, Ruwah embodies the breath of life and the victorious spirit that triumphs over adversity. It resonates with the belief that we are destined for success, the head and not the tail, where every circumstance aligns for our benefit.
Adding to its depth, Ruwah also signifies beauty, wisdom, and the power of dreams. It encapsulates the vision of a world where beauty exists in harmony with wisdom and dreams have the potential to be realized. It represents our commitment to adaptability, resilience, and the unwavering belief that we can overcome any challenge to achieve success and create a better future.
Our name inspires us to pursue excellence, cultivate wisdom, and strive to turn our collective dreams into reality.
We start the programs as early as 7 years old to 18+. Why? Because unlike other subjects, which can be introduced later in life and easily learned through repetition and practice, financial literacy requires one to possess specific foundational skills better acquired at a younger age. This means that the “right time” to start teaching your child about personal finance is NOW! The sooner you begin providing them with the tools to understand how money works, learn about setting goals and make plans for achieving them, the better off they will be when making important decisions later in life.
We also understand how our early experiences with money shape our relationship with it. So we go beyond just finance; we work with parents, guardians, teachers, and our entire community to help shape the minds of the next generation
and revolutionize how they see themselves and come out to the world. Our target audience includes anyone who wants to help us close the opportunity gap that currently exists between kids in Africa and the rest of the world.
I saw firsthand how difficult it has been for my family and many other families on the continent to build not just wealth – but Generational Wealth. Yet, I know that if we can give our kids a chance at financial wisdom through education and engagement, we can change their lives and the future of the continent forever.
Are you in?!
